Archival Craft: The PUMA Suede Charles F. Stead
Archival Craft: The PUMA Suede Charles F. Stead

Since its introduction in 1968, the PUMA Suede has maintained its status as a definitive icon of streetwear and sport. For 2026, the silhouette enters a new era through a partnership with one of England’s oldest and most respected tanneries, Leeds-based Charles F. Stead. This collaboration ushers in a fresh expression of the classic, focusing on the high-quality materials the tannery is world-renowned for.

The collection introduces three editions of the Suede, though the focus for our latest delivery lands on the Suede Charles F. Stead I and IV. Each pair is crafted from luxurious CFS materials and finished in a range of vivid colorations. The ‘I’ offers a classic, versatile black execution, while the ‘IV’ brings a more standout orange to the rotation.

To celebrate the launch, we took the Suede through our own lens at Potter and Co. in North Perth. Choosing a textile business as our backdrop was a deliberate move to highlight the premium materialisation and craftsmanship of the footwear. The setting draws a direct parallel between the daily work of a local textile house and the heritage leatherwork of Charles F. Stead.
