Curated by the Kiko Kostadinov Studio and the ASICS SportStyle development team, the UB7-S GT-2160™ sneaker is inspired by the themes of Interlaced Assemblages, Functional Utopias, and Mino Ceramics.
Soft textures merge with handcrafted elements reminiscent of iconic artwork, enhancing the heritage running archival silhouette and construction with matte and washed colour appearances. Grid-like patterns and bold opaque colours, inspired by Functional Utopias, create a direct correlation with nature. These glossy primary colourways are complemented by metallic structures that highlight the double-layer mesh materialization.
The design team also delved into Mino ceramic influences, examining contemporary processes that mimic the rust-like qualities found in Mino glazes. This approach treats imagery as a durable vessel, featuring degraded colours designed to withstand the test of time.
