The Puma Suede has been in production since 1968, built on the then-radical idea of putting suede on a sneaker when canvas was still the default. The Vibram variant does something unexpected with that legacy. Where adding a chunky Vibram outsole to a casual sneaker usually makes it more rugged, on the Suede it has the opposite effect, pulling the silhouette toward something dressier and more considered than the standard issue. The Puma Black colourway is the most committed version of that idea, all-over tonal with nothing to distract from the shape itself.
