ROMANCE is Fontaines D.C.'s most ambitious album yet, blending 11 tracks that reflect the band’s evolution since Skinty Fia (2022). The ideas for the record solidified during their U.S. and Mexico tour with Arctic Monkeys, where they found inspiration in the creative worlds of artists like Shygirl, Sega Bodega, Mos Def, and Korn.
The band members also spent time apart—O'Connell in Spain, Chatten in LA, and Deegan in Paris—before reconvening in London to push their creative boundaries. After finishing the U.S. tour in Autumn 2023, they spent a month writing, followed by pre-production in London and recording in a Paris chateau, fully immersed in the process. The result is a bold, expansive album that explores new sonic and lyrical territory.
