Hey, I’m Simon See Brand Director of S.W.C - Stepney Workers Club.
How Did Stepney Workers Club Come About?
SWC was an idea conceived by myself and Roger Pereira in 2017. We are both footwear obsessives with a dream to create a new vulcanised brand that can act as an indie alternative to the vulc classics. We wanted to stay true to what we believe vulc encapsulates- a seasonless, genreless and timeless sneaker that is worn by a wide and diverse audience. The name S.W.C derives from a link we had with the original Stepney Workers Sports Club. Born in the 1920’s. They were a liberal anti-fascist, anti-war group who’s tag line we carry with us still - ‘Freedom of Thought’ and ‘Freedom of Sport’

In such a short a space of time we’ve been lucky to work with some great people. However, a personal highlight was the Junya shoe. I’ve been a CDG head since I was a teenager, so this was a moment! Going forward, we’ve got some bits on a similar level, so we’re excited to see these come out.
How Do You Unwind When You Are Not Working On S.W.C?
As SWC grows and the busier we get. Time out has become more important. Running is my thing for a proper mind detox, along with continuously digging for records, dinking natties and hanging with the fam.

I've been an obsessive muso all my life, and playlists have always been difficult to compile, due to my taste being so broad. But I think on the whole, a lot of peoples tastes has diversified over the years. So with this playlist, it’s just an insight into where my heads at. But with so many people digging into the past, I’ve tried to put together a list of future classics and some past gems. Hope you like.
