Adidas Community Always | Studio P | EPISODE 39*

With Community Always, Highs and Lows and adidas Originals turn their attention to the places where creativity and connection quietly thrive. Studio P is one of them. Founded by Vaughan after years spent refining his practice, the Leederville pottery studio has become a hub for shared learning and slow-making. It’s a space where hands meet earth, strangers become friends, and the act of creating becomes a kind of conversation. From beginners shaping their first bowl to seasoned potters chasing new techniques, the studio draws together a community that values patience, process, and presence. Here, beauty grows from repetition, curiosity, and care, shaped not just by clay, but by the people who gather around it.

What inspired the creation of Studio P, and what makes it unique?
After many years of learning and exploring with the medium, mostly on the potters wheel, Vaughan started teaching the craft to friends. He recognised early on that pottery is a craft that brings people together from all demographics. Vaughan immediately saw the joy on people’s faces when working with clay, connecting not only with themselves and the medium but also with each other. Being able to share this feeling of creating something with your hands and what seems almost infinite in options and techniques, led to the opening of Studio P. A studio space where community and learning all things pottery is shared by many other fellow potters.

What have been some key highlights for Studio P?
Moving into our bigger warehouse space in Leederville has allowed us to keep evolving over the years, having time to reflect and let visions become reality. The main highlights are the constant growth and positivity of Studio P, seeing the joy on people's faces that are excited with their creations.

How important is community to your business?
The community at Studio P is as diverse as the ceramic pieces it produces. Beginners, seasoned potters, and everyone in between come together under one roof, creating an atmosphere that's as warm and welcoming. The studio buzzes with laughter and chatter, and you're just as likely to find a retiree crafting their first vase as you are a 20-something shaping their latest masterpiece.
Studio P is not just about serious pottery; it's also about fun and connection to community. It attracts people who are looking to learn and create, but also connect. Studio P is a place that strikes the balance between fostering creativity and building a sense of belonging. It's a place where you can mold clay into beautiful shapes while also shaping lasting friendships.
