Built from the perspective of our womenswear buyer, the women's instalment of our Spring 2026 lookbook, "The Ponderosa", takes a direct cue from the women who walk through our store doors. Rather than focusing solely on head-to-toe seasonal trends, each look is derived from a distinct customer profile, serving as a snapshot of how different personalities interpret the HAL floor.
The Ponderosa, our Spring 2026 women's lookbook, shot across the Perth foothills.
Set against the soft light and blooming landscapes of the Perth foothills, the editorial grounds itself in adaptable spring layering. The foundation relies on versatile silhouettes built for shifting weather, elevated by intentional pops of colour throughout the styling to highlight our latest seasonal deliveries. The multi-brand mix brings together distinct aesthetic voices, pairing pieces from GEEL, Open YY, Highs and Lows, Adidas, Perks and Mini, and Gramicci.
"A snapshot of how different personalities interpret the HAL Dept. floor."
To maintain the same dreamy, nostalgic visual identity as the men's feature, photographer Ryan Murphy drew inspiration from 1970s and 80s Polaroid textures, Peter Weir's Picnic at Hanging Rock, and Sofia Coppola's The Virgin Suicides. Relying on low-contrast lighting, soft diffusion, and natural overcast day-glow, the imagery bypasses harsh digital sharpness in favour of a gentle, painterly finish across the valley backdrop.
"A gentle, painterly finish across the valley backdrop."
"The Ponderosa" presents an honest reflection of seasonal womenswear, shaped directly by the distinct individuals and personal styles that pass through our store each day.
