Coming from Mermaid Beach to link up with Highs and Lows for the "West Coast Tour", Queensland-based Alfred's Apartment and Temptation Vacation arrive in Perth to share a natural exchange between opposite sides of the country.

Despite the distance between them, daily life in coastal spots shares the exact same baseline. It comes down to slow days, salty air, and an unhurried motto you simply cannot replicate in a major city centre.

Tracking up the coast through Yanchep, Two Rocks, Ledge Point and Lancelin, the route provided the backdrop. As John Steinbeck once wrote, "It is advisable to look from the tide pool to the stars and then back to the tide pool again." It is a good reminder of scale: balancing the sheer vastness of the Western Australian coastline against the small, everyday habits that play out around an open tailgate at dusk.

Ongoing collaborator, Ryan Murphy documented the trip, focusing on the unpolished character of regional Western Australia and the quiet coastal towns that punctuate the drive. No glossy staging, just honest light and the dirt tracks that connect these places together.
