DIY Workshop Recap | Celebrating Our Latest Womenswear
DIY Workshop Recap | Celebrating Our Latest Womenswear

We are immensely proud to welcome the latest arrivals into our womenswear brand roster featuring mesmerising coquette-infused collections from GANNI, Chopova Lowena and Verner just to name a few! To celebrate we invited our community to the second floor of our department store for a memorable sunny Saturday morning previewing the collections alongside a workshop handmaking ballet-core craft with adorable cakes by our friend – Ailish Bea (@ailishbea).

The event was curated by our female-team with Hannah and Annelise bringing their fashion-design background transforming our second floor into a DIY workshop championing a vibrant, sustainable vision. With materials upcycled from their own studios or sourced from local thrift stores, our girls accentuated their garment making expertise and creative direction.

Within the laid-back atmosphere attendees of crafted a wide range of outfit emphasising accessories including carabiner bag tags, hair clips, keychains and broaches. The plentiful selection of fabrics and accessories gave participants the ability to create pieces that complimented their individual aesthetics. Carabiner clips and keychains were the first to become depleted, customised with a variety of lace, velvet and gingham fabrics. We also witnessed the creation of numerous Sandy Liang-esque hair accessories.

The original coquette entrepreneurs, GANNI capture the zeitgeist of contemporary fashion enthusiasts with their Scandinavian design ideology and frivolous prints and silhouettes. Whimsical Bulgarian influenced Chopova Lowena with their colourful clashing fabrics and couture design principles are a welcome addition to our department store. In our constant pursuit to celebrate Australian designers we welcome Melbourne based Verner, another female led label that calls back to lost childhood memories in their latest collection.

2023 has been a big year for us and we wouldn’t blame you if you missed the myriad of projects we have been championing! Inspiring meaningful projects in our beautiful community of Perth, Australia – the Highs and Lows Department store has been active in pushing the boundaries of the retail landscape offering curating one of the most important brand rosters in the world.

All of the team at Highs and Lows would like to say a special thank you to everyone who came down to honour their creativity. Keep an eye out on our socials @highs_and_lows for our next event and shop online or in-store to shop the latest womens, mens, footwear and lifestyle goods now!
