The Carhartt WIP Spring / Summer 2022 collection translates classic work-inspired staples into a lighter seasonal palette, accented by graphic motifs, deconstructed elements, and unique wash treatments.
The collections include a series of ‘faded’ garments – a pigment dye treatment that leaves items looking washed out yet saturated. Classics, like OG Detroit Jacket, appear in this treatment, noticeably accented by gold zips and shank buttons. Additionally, a series of classic Carhartt WIP styles have been deconstructed, then spliced back together. Canvas, ripstop, corduroy, and twill all feature – often on the same item. Silhouettes are built with a similar approach. The resulting compositions are complex, yet they look and feel like archetypal Carhartt WIP styles.

For its Summer 2022 campaign, Carhartt WIP has worked with Idriss Nassangar, a photographer based between Marrakech and Paris, to create a series of still and moving images. For this campaign, Nassangar sought to capture the same feeling of closeness to his subjects, revealing in what defines their everyday life, from the minutiae to the mundane.
Shot in Morocco, between the cities of Casablanca and Marrakech, the images spotlight garments from the brand’s S/S22 collection, alongside the unique architecture and found street objects from the two locations. Consequently, the campaign is both rich in colour and detail, with a cast drawn from friend groups in both cities.
This dynamic was important to Nassangar, who described the work as a series of “stolen moments.” A similar sense of spontaneity and intimacy defines the photographer’s work — in particular his personal project ‘A Day With?’, which sees him tenderly portray people and communities through his portraiture.
