adidas presents the inaugural Consortium Cup – a first-of-its-kind four week long footwear design tournament with 16 of the world’s most iconic sneaker stores going head to head for the chance to be crowned champions and produce the next highly sought after sneaker.
Together with our design team at HAL STUDIOS®, we're pushing the boundaries of what's possible in the world of sneakers and fashion alongside our fellow consortium partners: Overkill, Nice Kicks, Hanon, END., Xhibition, Footpatrol, Extra Butter, Bait, Commonwealth, BSTN, Kasina, Politics, Carnival, Offspring, and Mita Sneakers.

While the majority of our contenders have selected the Samba, we opted to take a different route and selected a silhouette that is deeply rooted in the many subcultures that are core to the DNA of our brand - presenting the HAL STUDIOS X ADIDAS SUPERSTAR!
Kicking things off in a muted but myriad colorway of umber, shadow and cargo, this sneaker design is tastefully downplayed by day with its zigzag stitching and red-accented HAL Studios floating heel tabs and silicone lace tips. After dark, it takes on new appeal with a semi-translucent, glow-in-the-dark outsole in a triple trefoil print. It’s ultimate versatility, by design.

About The Consortium Cup & How To Vote
The Consortium Cup has us compete in a four round knockout format in a series of sneaker design inspired challenges. Round 01 focuses on adidas' classic silhouettes, Round 02 highlights the Three Stripes' basketball legacy, Round 03 explores running innovation, and Round 04 is a top-secret Finale.
Every Thursday, each round will reveal the designs of competing stores and voting will be open for 48 hours.
The store receiving the most votes in each matchup will progress deeper into the tournament. The winning shoe from each round will be produced in limited quantities and made available for purchase at a later date – with a total of 15 sneakers making it from concept to store shelves.
