This Perth summer has been nothing short of relentless. Since the start of the year, we’ve been hit with sweltering 36 to 40-degree days, with little relief in sight. In these extreme conditions, the thought of wrapping ourselves in anything remotely restrictive or heavy feels almost nauseating. With this in mind, we’ve reimagined our Summer 24/25 lookbook to adapt to the Australian climate, embracing effortless silhouettes and earthy tones that blend into our natural surroundings.
When curating our selection, we sought out pieces that truly captured the essence of an Australian summer. Melbourne label Verner emerged as an obvious standout. Having unveiled her "Blue Heaven" collection at Australian Fashion Week last year, Ingrid Verner’s designs exude a cool, composed energy. The palette of soft blues, gentle greens, and sun-bleached whites transports us to a place of escape—from the heat of the day, whether it’s the ocean breeze or the cool comfort of air conditioning. Verner’s collections elevate the art of dressing for everyday, effortlessly integrating into the wardrobe of those who value versatility.
In crafting our lookbook, we also took into account the need for eveningwear during the summer season, where social events and family gatherings become more frequent. Enter Paloma Wool, the Barcelona-based brand that makes dressing from day to night feel effortless. Their thoughtful, cohesive silhouettes transition seamlessly, making it easy to dress up or down. We paired the Paloma Wool Narisa dress with black Tabi shoes for a relaxed yet chic daytime look.
For skirts, we’ve looked to and Wander, the Japanese outdoor brand that merges femininity with utilitarianism. Their range of silhouettes offers freedom of movement, ensuring you're always ready for whatever the day (or evening) holds. Meanwhile, Aries captures the essence of laid-back cool with its effortlessly chic designs. The camo sweat skirt, in particular, has been a summer favourite: comfortable, breathable, and versatile in neutral tones that pair well with almost any top.
For us, summer dressing is about freedom—freedom from the heat and restriction, yet still staying true to your personal style. It's about feeling comfortable in your own skin, while making a statement.
