VANDYTHEPINK got his start customising sneakers with hand-drawn food and pop culture doodles, and the ice cream theme has stuck. After debuting with ASICS on the GEL-Nimbus 10.1 Banana Split with atmos last year, the Virginia-based Korean American brand returns on the GEL-Kayano 12.1 with the Vanilla colourway, the globally available half of a two-part Ice Cream Pack. The wide waffle-textured mesh upper is designed to read like a waffle cone, with metallic silver overlays referencing a scoop, and mint green, berry pink and pale yellow hits across the upper and midsole channelling rainbow sprinkles. VANDYTHEPINK's name is printed in Korean on the tongue in place of the usual ASICS text — the first time Hangul has appeared in an ASICS collaboration — a floral hangtag sits at the lateral heel, and the insoles carry a personalised ice cream cone graphic. Includes a silver ice cream scoop accessory.
