Edwin Faeh, a German designer specializing in denim, began selling Carhartt WIP’s authentic work-wear in Europe after visiting the United States in 1989 (Carhartt was originally founded in 1889). The brand began gaining street credibility brought about by the early days of hip hop. Work in Progress (WIP) is established by Edwin Faeh to become the exclusive distributor of Carhartt in Europe, and has now evolved into its own identity for blending street and work-wear.
