We are pleased to introduce Seoul-based label Open YY to the Level 02 women's selection. Founded in 2020 by sisters Ji-young and Bo-young Kim, the brand explores individuality through a fresh and unconventional lens. Initially known as TheOpen Product, the label underwent a rebranding in 2023. The shift to Open YY was made to better reflect their roots and embrace the essence of sisterhood that serves as a core artistic inspiration for the founders.

The resulting collections blend nostalgic nineties and 2000s aesthetics with contemporary Korean streetwear. The design language relies on experimental layering, unexpected cut-outs, and relaxed tailoring. You can see this through their use of soft feminine knitwear sitting right next to oversized classic suits or vintage denim jeans. They have gained serious traction internationally, picked up by figures like Peggy Gou for their approach to casual chic dressing.

Bringing Open YY to the HAL Department Store makes total sense for how we view Level 02. We want to highlight design integrity and distinct perspectives that still feel completely unpretentious. The label creates garments that manage to be both electrifying and charmingly modest. Our initial curation features pieces like shirred jersey tanks, draped cotton skirts, and slouchy v-neck sweatshirts. They are simple foundations that encourage a bit of stylish rebellion and boundless freedom in how you put things together.
