The womenswear floor at Highs and Lows Level 02 continues to expand with the addition of Brisbane-based label My Mum Made It. Founded in 2015 by designer Nyree Leckenby, the brand has carved out a distinct space by leaning heavily into childhood nostalgia, retro-inspired silhouettes, and a highly feminine aesthetic.

The label's start was entirely practical. Leckenby built the foundation of the brand after cutting an A-line dress out of a vintage bedsheet on her mother's sewing machine. When people asked where her handmade outfits came from, her standard response was playfully literal: "My mum made it". What started as a hobby and a running joke eventually turned into a fully realised global brand.

Rather than chasing standard seasonal trends, My Mum Made It focuses on specific, nostalgic shapes. The collections are built around babydoll dresses, Peter Pan collars, ruffled bloomers, and lace detailing in soft pastel tones. Over the last few years, the brand has also committed to a slower production model, relying exclusively on natural and sustainable fabrics like organic cotton and hemp.
To launch the first arrival of My Mum Made It, we took the collection to our neighbours at Mon Muse House. Founded by local creatives Ruby, Indi and Tam, Mon Muse House was born from years spent working across various studios, leading the trio to build a purpose-designed space of their own. More than just a photo studio, it stands as a dedicated hub for Perth photographers, brands and small businesses to collaborate and build community.
My Mum Made It brings a different visual language to Level 02, balancing soft, vintage-inspired design with practical construction.
