Creative director John Galliano uses the conscious grammar and science of today in a dialogue between the American
sportswear studio’s classic sneaker and the French haute couture atelier’s timeless split-toed shoe.
The result is a combination of Reebok’s ultimate classic shoe “The Classic Leather” with the Margiela Signature Tabi.
As a feature of his continuous witty ideas through fashion, Martin Margiela was known for his 1996 Spring/Summer
Collection through the use of “trompe l’oeil” or “decieve the eye”. Pictures of clothing details on blank garments to trick
the eye that these details were actually there. The result is a print of the “Club C” with all it is details completely flat tricking you what is really there.
